Maine Days

ISBN-10-1494373432

Maine Days is a collection of poetry that reflects upon my childhood during summer visits to my father’s farm in Lincolnville, Maine. It takes the reader through memories of special times, family struggles, and the overall dynamics of being a family. My father’s remembrances and his mother’s own words help contribute to the reflection.

The Friendly Chickadees

ISBN-10-1500317926

In the first children's book by Nicole Colantoni, The Friendly Chickadees tells of a young girl learning to feed the small bird from her hand with the guidance of her grandfather. With patience, and a few tries, the girl succeeds and shares in the pride with her grandfather.

The story is based on actual experiences from the author.  In the back country of Maine, Colantoni's grandfather was a nature-lover, who befriended many animals and was able to feed them by hand.  During yearly visits to his home he taught her and her brothers to get birds to land and eat from their hands.  The story is a tribute to these experiences with the hope that others will try it themselves and with thier children.
